Shri Krishna has been addressed as Varshney in Verse 40/Ch-1 and
Verse 36/Ch-3 of Bhagvad Gita,as of Vrishni lineage. Varshney Vaish regard them selves as descendants of Akrurji of the same lineage. Vrishnis originally inhabited Mathura & Dwarka.They greatly influenced the people along the river Saraswati, which later dried up.This great civilisation is now known as Indus Valley Civilisation.
