Varshney History

Shri Krishna has been addressed as Varshney in Verse 40/Ch-1 and Verse 36/Ch-3 of Bhagvad Gita,as of Vrishni lineage. Varshney Vaish regard them selves as descendants of Akrurji of the same lineage. Vrishnis originally inhabited Mathura & Dwarka. They greatly influenced the people along the river Saraswati, which later dried up.This great civilisation is now known as Indus Valley Civilisation. Vrishni and Akrur are found mentioned over number of Indus Seals.(see Related Links).
